No. 7 Women's Squash Downs No. 10 Stanford for Second Win of Sunday

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 7 Drexel University women's squash team wrapped a perfect weekend with an 8-1 win against No. 10 Stanford on Sunday afternoon from the Kline & Specter Squash Center.
Leading 1-0 entering the match following a win by default at number nine, the Dragons won the overall match in the opening rotation. The first on-court win for the Dragons came at number six where Ciara Richards downed Haley Aube 11-1, 11-5, 11-8. That win was quickly followed by Lydia Robinson who picked up an 11-0, 11-3, 11-1 victory at number eight. Noa Romero won in the fourth spot 11-6, 11-4, 11-6 and Alina Bushma fended off a challenge from Elena Wagenmans, winning 11-9, 11-9, 11-8, tipping the overall match to Drexel.
In the second rotation, Dina Rosli and Brook Herring took quick wins at seven and five with Rosli finishing an 11-5, 11-4, 11-2 result and Herring going 11-3, 11-4, 12-10 against Sumrin Mudgil.
Even with the overall result in hand, the final match of the day provided some of the greatest excitement. At the top of the ladder, Karina Tyma battled and outlasted Cassandra Ong 17-15, 19-17 with Ong retiring at 8-8 in the third game in a match that lasted nearly an hour.
The Dragons return to action two weekends from now with a match at Columbia on Friday, December 3 at 4:00 p.m.
