Butler and Martin Combine For 45 Points in the Win
PHILADELPHIA – James Butler scored a career-high 25 points and Melik Martin added 20 points as Drexel defeated Fairleigh Dickinson in a rescheduled game at the Daskalakis Athletic Center, 86-65. The Dragons used an 18-2 run midway through the second half to pull away as they improved to 4-3 on the season.
The game was close early in the second half as FDU (0-7) seemed to counter every Drexel run. Devon Dunn drained a 3-pointer to cut Drexel's lead to three with just over 10 minutes to play. On the ensuing possession, Butler scored from in close which started a stretch of 13 straight Drexel points. After FDU broke the scoreless stretch of more than four minutes, Matey Juric made a pair of free throws and Mate Okros hit his third 3-pointer of the game as the lead swelled to 19.
