PRINCETON, N.J. – Camren Wynter's driving attempt in the lane as time expired came up short as Drexel fell in overtime to Princeton, 81-79. Princeton's Tosan Evbuomwan scored the game-winning bucket with 3.4 second to plays. Drexel (4-4) called timeout and after, Wynter was able to get in the lane, but the shot would not fall as the buzzer went off. Princeton improved to 6-3.
The Dragons started of the overtime period strong and scored the first six points. Amari Williams scored on a put-back and one the next possession, was fouled and made one of his two free throw attempts. Drexel made a stop and then Xavier Bell converted a 3-point play to put the Dragons ahead, 77-71, with 3:29 left in the extra frame. The Tigers countered with a pair of free throws before Bell scored again with 2:47 to play. Those would be the last Drexel points of the day as the Tigers scored the final eight points to come away with the victory. Evbuomwan scored six of the final eight points. He finished the day with 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists. He was 11-for-20 from the floor.

On the next possession, Jaelin Llewellyn was fouled and made a pair of free throws, cutting the deficit to three. Wynter was fouled and had a one-and-one with 34 seconds to play, but missed the front end. Princeton went to the three ball after a timeout and Ryan Langborg drained a trey to even the game at 71. The Dragons had the final possession of regulation, but Wynter's long jumper wouldn't go down as the teams went to an overtime session.
Wynter led the Dragons with 18 points, but committed five turnovers and was just 7-for-21 from the floor. Bell had 17 points, 15 of them coming after intermission. James Butler scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half and had 12 rebounds. It was his fourth double-double in five games. Melik Martin scored 12, while Amari Williams came off the bench and snared a career-high 12 boards. He also had three blocks.
Langborg finished with 17 points and was 5-for-7 from long range. Llewellyn added 15 points.
Drexel will have this week off as it is finals week in University City. The Dragons won't be back in action until Saturday when they head to Texas for a battle with Abilene Christian University. The Wildcats were an NCAA team a year ago and defeated Texas in the tournament. That game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
