Women’s Basketball Hosts JMU on Saturday, Sunday to Close Regular Season

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel University women's basketball team (10-7, 7-5 CAA) will host the James Madison University Dukes (12-8, 8-5 CAA) for a weekend series on Saturday, Feb. 27 (presented by Sheraton University City) and Sunday, Feb. 28 (presented by Gatorade) in Philadelphia to close out the regular season. Both games will tip at 1 p.m.
Drexel play-by-play announcer Ari Bluestein will call both games on FloHoops. Sunday's contest will also be aired regionally on NBC Sports Philadelphia+.
CAA STANDINGS
Delaware currently occupies the top spot in the CAA at 14-2. Towson is second at 7-3. A win separates JMU (8-5) and Drexel (7-5) as the squads sit third and fourth, respectively.
LAST WEEKEND
Drexel split a pair of road games at Towson last weekend. The Dragons picked up a 71-55 win on Saturday before falling on Sunday, 77-62. Keishana Washington led DU in both games with 19 and 17 points, respectively. Kate Connolly also finished with 12 points on Saturday and 15 on Sunday as she shot 11-of-15 from the floor combined.
LEADING SCORERS
In conference play, Hannah Nihill leads the Dragons, averaging 16.7 points per game, followed by Washington (12.5), Mariah Leonard (9.2), Maura Hendrixson (7.5) and Connolly (7.1).

In addition, JMU features #30 Kiki Jefferson, who leads the team with 16.0 points per game in 20 starts. #25 Jamia Hazell and #22 Peyton McDaniel are both three-time CAA Rookie of the Week honorees this season.
