Men's and Women's Swimming Splits at Delaware

NEWARK, Del. - The Drexel men's and women's swimming teams traveled to Newark, Del., on Saturday morning to face the Blue Hens. The men's team pulled out a narrow win, 132-129, and the women's team was defeated, 164-98.
On the men's side, freshman Kacper Karnik won two individual events, including the 100 breast and the 200 breast. Karnik teamed-up with John Scully, Kevin Spear and T.J. Given to win the 400 free-relay for Drexel. Paris Raptis earned first-place finishes in the 200 fly and 100 fly. Raptis, joined by Karnik, John Klein and T.J. Given, won the 400 medley relay for the Dragons. Zachary Valenzuela finished first in the 200 IM after touching the wall in 1:54.63.
For the women, Lera Nasedkina finished first in the 100 free, 100 fly and 50 free. Gabrielle Rudy took first place in the 100 breast and was a part of the second-place 400 free relay team. Maddie Riley finished first in the 1000 free.
The men's and women's swimming teams are off until the CAA Championships on March 29. The women's swimming Championships are scheduled for March 29-31, while the men's swimming Championships are scheduled for April 1-3. The diving team will face Delaware Friday, March 19th.
