Women's Basketball to Face Elon in CAA Championships

RICHMOND, Va. – The Drexel women's basketball team will face Elon tonight at the 2021 CAA Women's Basketball Championship, presented by SonaBank. The Dragons will face the host school at Schar Center in Elon, N.C.
The Dragons jumped into the third spot after Towson lost to UNCW last Friday night. Drexel will enter play with an 11-8 record and an 8-6 mark CAA play. Elon, the sixth-seed is 7-7 overall and 3-5 in conference play. The winner of tonight's game will face either Northeastern or James Madison.
The Dragons and Elon split a pair of games at the Daskalakis Athletic Center in late January. Drexel lost the opener by two points, but followed that up with a 55-44 win. Hannah Nihill scored 22 to lead the Dragons. She leads the Dragons in scoring with 15.7 points per game and has 52 steals in just 19 games. Keishana Washington averages 13.2 points, while Mariah Leonard leads the club with 6.8 rebounds per game.
The semifinal games of the CAA Women's Basketball Championship are set for 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, with the two winners facing off for the conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 13. All eight games of the CAA Women's Basketball Championship can be seen on FloHoops.com.
There will be no public sale of tickets for the CAA Women's Basketball Championship. Attendance at the championship will be limited to families and guests of student-athletes and coaches.
