Dragons Give Early Battle To No. 16 Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Drexel women's soccer team battled in a defensive first half before falling 4-0 at the No. 16 Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Thursday evening.
Despite an early advantage in shots on target for the Dragons, the Scarlet Knights netted the first goal of the match in the 11th minute. The score remained 1-0 into the early stages of the second half when Rutgers netted a pair of tallies four minutes apart, extending the advantage to 3-0, before sealing the final with a marker in the 87th minute.
In goal, Miyuki Schoyen made seven saves, setting a new season high. Offensively, Gabrielle Perrotto led DU with three shots
Up next, Drexel travels to Temple on Sunday, September 19. Opening tap in North Philadelphia is slated for 1:00 p.m.
