Dragons Battle La Salle To Scoreless Tie

PHILADELPHIA – In a hard fought battle between city rivals, the Drexel women's soccer team battled to a scoreless tie against the La Salle Explorers on Thursday night.
After a first half that was played primarily in the midfield with few shots on goal, the Dragons opened the second half well recording five shots, including three on goal in the first 20 minutes of the frame. As the half wore on, Drexel continued to push the pressure, connecting for seven shots on target. A pair of scoreless overtimes followed with neither team recoding a shot on net.
For the match, the Dragons attempted nine corner kicks and allowed just one shot on goal.
Next up, Drexel travels to Seton Hall on Sunday, September 5. Opening tap from South Orange, N.J. is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
