Dragons Stand in Second Place After Day One at Wildcat Fall Invitational

Radnor, Pa. - The Drexel golf team completed 36 holes at the Wildcat Fall Invitational on Monday and will enter the final round in second place in the nine team tournament.
For the second straight tournament, Drue Nicholas and Angelo Giantsopoulos have seen their names at the top of the leader board. Both players sit at one-under par after 36 holes and are tied for fourth overall. They each shot even-par 70 in the morning round and followed that with a one-under 69 in the afternoon session. Sophomore Griffin Mitchell also had an impressive day. In his Drexel debut, Mitchell fired a 68 in the afternoon and is tied for sixth overall at one-over par (141). Jeffrey Cunningham will enter Tuesday at six-over par. He shot a pair of 73s at the Radnor Country Club, which played at 6,572 yards.
Drexel trails Delaware by just four strokes. The Dragons are four strokes ahead of third place Rhode Island. Villanova is in fourth place, a distant 18 shots behind the Dragon. Longwood, Georgetown, the Villanova "B" team, St. John's and Saint Joseph's round out the field.
Drexel's first golfer will tee off at 9:40 on Tuesday morning.
