BY THE NUMBERS
- For Lappin, the goals were her sixth and seventh of the season. The seven goals are the most in a season for a Drexel player since Shaelyn McCarty also posted seven in 2016.
- Casey Touey, Annalena O'Reilly and Isabel Kuzy each had an assist. It was the third helper of the year for O'Reilly and the first each for Touey and Kuzy.
- Molly Piso came up with five saves in net to preserve the win for DU.
- The eight wins for the Dragons are the most for the team since an 11-7-1 mark in 2017.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lappin got DU on the board first in the 10th minute. O'Reilly sent a ball from the top of the box to the left side for Touey who one-touched it to Lappin. The junior did the rest, sending it inside the right post for the 1-0 lead.
- In the 29th minute, Kuzy served a ball in from the left to Lappin, who headed the it into the upper left corner, making it 2-0 Drexel.
- Elon got one back in the 66th minute and continued to pressure through the remainder of the game, but Piso came up big, stopping four shots in the second half.
