
No. 3 Women's Squash Wins Pennsylvania State Squash Championship

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 3 Drexel women's squash team won its second consecutive Pennsylvania State Squash Championship, defeating No. 9 Penn, 7-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center.
Emma Bartley got the day started for the Dragons with a 3-1 win in the eighth position against Penelope Oh by an 11-7, 11-13, 11-5, 11-8 final. Alina Bushma followed at number one with a sweep of Malak Taha, 15-13, 11-4, 11-6.
After the Quakers earned a point in the sixth spot, Drexel rallied as Dina Rosli claimed a 10-12, 11-8, 11-4, 11-8 victory in the fifth position. After that, Lydia Robinson picked up her first win of the season with a 10-12, 11-9, 11-7, 11-9 score at number seven.
Looking to clinch the match, Noa Romero was locked in a tight battle in the third spot with Jana Dweek. After Romero won the first game 11-9, Dweek took the second. In the third, Romero won 11-9 with Dweek reversing the score in game four. In the deciding game Romero prevailed by an 11-8 count, giving the Dragons the overall match.
Also earning points for DU were Karina Tyma with an 11-8, 11-6, 11-9 win at number two and Margot Prow, who earned an 11-6, 11-3, 11-4 victory in the fourth position.
Drexel returns to action on Friday, December 2 when it takes on No. 4 Columbia in its home opener. First serve from the Kline & Specter Squash Center is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
