
Williams Has a Double-Double as Dragons Fall at Seton Hall

NEWARK, N.J. – Amari Williams picked up his second straight double-double, but Drexel fell to Seton Hall at the Prudential Center, 66-49. The Dragons (5-6) found themselves in a deep hole early in the second half before making it a game late.
The Pirates (7-4) used a solid defensive effort in grabbing the lead early. They would not relinquish it the rest of the night. Seton Hall held Drexel to just 21 percent shooting in the first half on its way to a 31-16 lead at intermission. Shots wouldn't fall for Drexel until midway through the second half. Drexel got a spark off the bench from first-year players Kobe MaGee and Yame Butler. Butler nailed two 3-pointers and finished the game with a career-high 10 points. MaGee had five points and three rebounds in 12 minutes of play.
Williams finished the game with team-highs of 14 points and 10 rebounds. He also had two more blocked shots. Coletrane Washington added 11 and sank 3-3-pointers. The two combined for all 16 of Drexel's first half points.
Tray Jackson led Seton Hall with 12 points. Dre Davis added 10 for the Pirates. Seton Hall scored 30 of its 57 points in the paint. The Pirates held Drexel to just 7-for-29 from long range.
Drexel returns home and will face Delaware State on Saturday afternoon at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
