
No. 6 Women's Squash Picks Up Wins Against No. 9 Cornell and No. 20 St. Lawrence

ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 6 Drexel women's squash team came away with a pair of wins on Saturday, solidifying its position for the upcoming CSA Team Championships. The Dragons beat No. 9 Cornell 6-3 and downed No. 20 St. Lawrence 9-0.
Against the Big Red, the bottom of the ladder proved to be the key and helped to showcase the depth of Drexel. The Dragons won all the matches from number six to number nine, dropping just one game along the way. Brooke Herring defeated Alexis Shatzman 11-4, 11-8, 11-6 in the sixth position with Ciara Richards topping McKenna Stoltz 5-11, 11-6, 12-10, 11-5 at number seven. In the eighth spot, it was Dina Rosli downing Ania LaDow 11-3, 13-11, 11-7 and at number nine, Lydia Robinson beat Mia Krishnamurthy 11-7, 11-5, 11-6.
On the top half of the board, Noa Romero picked up a win at number four, defeating Ananya Dabke 11-4, 11-3, 11-6 and Alina Bushma fended off Wen Li Lai 13-11, 8-11, 11-3, 9-11, 11-8 in the second position to close the match.
Taking on St. Lawrence, Hatti Specter got Drexel its first point with an 11-3, 11-5, 11-2 win at number nine. Following that were Romero who defeated Petra DeRose 11-2, 11-3, 11-6 and Margot Prow who downed Makyla Kelley 11-3, 11-2, 11-5 in the fourth and third positions respectively. Robinson followed with an 11-7, 11-6, 11-4 win in the seventh spot. The Dragons took the match at number five as Herring defeated Ulrikke Bore Ribesen 11-4, 11-1, 11-6.
Also earning wins for Drexel against the Saints were Karina Tyma, 11-6, 11-3, 11-6 in the first position, Katerina Cummings 11-2, 11-7, 11-2 at number eight, Richards 11-5, 11-3, 11-5 at number six, and Bushma 11-6, 11-6, 11-4 in the second spot.
The Dragons are back in action on Tuesday, February 15 when they hosts No. 3 Princeton for Senior Day. Opening serve from the Kline and Specter Squash Center is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
