
No. 6 Women's Squash Closes Historic Regular Season With Senior Night

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 6 Drexel University women's squash team closed a historic regular season for the program with a tough 5-4 loss against No. 3 Princeton on Senior Night on Tuesday.
Prior to the match, the Dragons honored Rose Lawrence and Brooke Herring for their four years in helping to build the women's squash program. Among the accomplishments of the senior class were two Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference championships, a Pennsylvania State Classic title, and a pair of trips to the Howe Cup.
Things started well for Drexel as Dina Rosli continued her undefeated rookie season, downing Molly Chadwick 11-9, 11-5, 11-8 at number eight. Rosli ran her record to 13-0 this year with the win. The Tigers followed with a pair of five-game wins, taking a 2-1 lead before the Dragons responded with a 3-2 win of their own as Noa Romero beat Caroline Spahr 11-9, 5-11, 4-11, 11-9, 11-2 in the fourth spot to even the contest.
Princeton rallied to win the next three points and claim the match, but Drexel kept fighting, earning wins at number two where Alina Bushma topped Elle Ruggiero 11-7, 9-11, 11-3, 11-9 and in the third position as Margot Prow came from behind to defeat Raneem El Torky 8-11, 11-8, 9-11, 13-11, 11-4.
The Dragons finish the regular season with a program record 14 wins and now set their sights on the CSA Team Championships to be held in Boston, Feb. 25-27. Draws for the event will be announced at a later date.
