No. 6 Women's Squash Makes Program History At Howe Cup

BOSTON, Mass. – The No. 6 Drexel University women's squash team continued to make history as the Dragons advanced to the winner's bracket of the Howe Cup for the first time with a 6-3 win against No. 3 Princeton on Friday.
With the victory, Drexel is guaranteed to finish at least fourth in the national championship tournament.
Trailing 2-0 early, the Dragons came back as Alina Bushma won Drexel's first point, downing Elle Riggiero at number two 11-6, 11-8. 7-11, 11-8. DU tied the score as Noa Romero defeated Caroline Spahr in the fourth position 11-8, 12-10, 11-8.
Drexel took the lead in the match with a hardfought 3-2 win by Dina Rosli at number eight as she topped Josephine Klein 7-11, 11-6, 11-6, 8-11, 11-7. The win keeps Rosli undefeated on the year, running her record to 14-0. After Princeton tied the contest, the Dragons got a boost at number five where Sanya Vats beat Emme Leonard 11-3, 3-11, 11-7, 11-9 to push DU within one point of victory.
Taking care of business, Drexel clinched its historic win as Lydia Robinson beat Olivia Robinson at number nine 11-9, 8-11, 11-9, 11-6. Finishing the final score, Karina Tyma won her 13th match of the year at number one to tie the single-season school record, taking a 12-10, 11-6, 11-3 victory against Andrea Toth.
Drexel returns to action on Saturday, February 26 when it faces No. 2 Trinity in the semifinals. Opening serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
