Dragons Shoot Even Par on Day One at Advance Golf Partners Collegiate

Giantsopoulos leads the way at two-under par
PALM CITY, Fla. - The Drexel golf team began its spring season on Sunday in the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate. The Dragons showed no rust from the off season as they fired a score of even par in the three-day event. Angelo Giantsopoulos picked up where he left off by firing a two-under-par 70 in the first round of the season. Overall, the Dragons are tied for sixth in the 21-team event after the opening round at 288.
Giantsopoulos had a team-best six birdies on the day and is tied for 12th place overall. Jeffrey Cunningham started his final spring season with an even-par 72. Drue Nicholas and Griffin Mitchell each finished the day with a 73.
The Dragons enter Monday's action just four shots behind the leaders. Creighton, Wichita State and Mercer each finished at 284. Drexel is three shots behind Wofford and just one back of Valparaiso. The Dragons are tied with UNCG, who is hosting the tournament.
