
No. 8 Men's Squash Takes on No. 5 Princeton at Potter Cup

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 8 Drexel University men's squash team battled to a 6-3 setback against No. 5 Princeton in the consolation semifinals of the CSA Potter Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The Dragons got the first point the day as Matias Knudsen swept Daelum Mawji 11-2, 11-8, 11-2 in the second spot. After Princeton recorded the next two points, DU came back to tie the score as Jose Lopez beat Ahmed Wael 11-8, 17-15, 8-11, 11-6 at number six.
Princeton went back on top 3-2, but Drexel tied it with a win by Fritiof Jacobsson in the fourth position, downing Duncan Joyce 11-8, 11-7, 11-9. Arguably the turning point came at number three where Haris Qasim fell behind 2-0 before winning the third and fourth games 11-4, 11-8. In the fifth, the score was tied 7-7 before Thomas Rosini came away with the final four points of the decider, claiming the match for the Tigers, who would then win the final two contests of the day.
The Dragons close their team schedule with a seventh place match against No. 7 Virginia. Opening serve is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
