No. 6 Women's Squash Sweeps Georgetown to Open Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championships

LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 6 Drexel University women's squash team opened the Mid-Atlantic Squash Championships in strong fashion with a 9-0 win against No. 25 Georgetown on Friday evening.
Getting the day started for the Dragons was Kat Cummings who took an 11-3 11-2, 11-0 win at number six. That was followed by an 11-2, 11-2, 11-2 win for Hatti Specter in the eighth spot. Brooke Herring won 11-1, 11-1, 11-5 at number three with Rose Lawrence claiming an 11-2, 11-3, 11-5 win in the ninth position.
Drexel clinched the match at number one where Margot Prow took an 11-0, 11-2, 11-1 decision. Opening the second rotation, Lara Varma won at number seven 11-3, 11-4, 11-6. Dina Rosli topped her opponent 11-7, 11-1, 11-1 at number five, followed by an 11-0, 11-1, 11-2 win for Ciara Richards in the fourth spot. Finishing the sweep for Drexel was Noa Romero at number two, taking an 11-2, 11-1, 11-3 win.
The Dragons are in action twice tomorrow, taking on Dickinson and Franklin & Marshal at 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. respectively.
