
No. 6 Women's Squash Turns In Two Shutouts at Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championships

LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 6 Drexel University women's squash team continued its run at the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championships on Saturday with a pair of 9-0 wins, beating No. 22 Dickinson in the morning and No. 16 Franklin & Marshall in the afternoon. The Dragons enter the final day of the event at 3-0, the best record in the tournament.
Against the Red Devils, Katerina Cummings got the Dragons on the board with an 11-5, 11-1, 11-2 win at number eight against Jocelyn Feliciano. Brooke Herring followed with an 11-4, 11-6, 11-5 victory in the sixth spot against Whitney Finney. Completing the first rotation were Margot Prow at number three and Karina Tyma in the first position who came away with a 3-0 and 3-1 win respectively.
Hatti Specter clinched the winning fifth point for Drexel at number nine with her 11-2, 11-3 11-1 victory against Emerson Rains. In the fifth position, Sanya Vats needed 11 minutes to come away with an 11-3, 11-4, 11-1 win. Ciara Richards topped Cate Moll 11-6 ,11-3, 11-2 at number seven. Finishing the sweep were Noa Romero won who 11-4, 11-3, 11-4 at number four and Alina Bushma, claiming an 11-0, 11-4, 11-2 win at number two.
Taking on the Diplomats in the final contest of the day, Richards scored the first point with an 11-4, 11-3, 11-3 win against Emily Bartos at number six. Cummings and Prow followed with 3-0 scores in the eighth and third positions respectively. Lara Varma won at number nine 11-4, 11-1, 11-4 before Tyma clinched the match in the top spot with a hardfought 9-11, 11-9, 12-10, 11-6 victory against Audrey Berling.
Finishing off the sweep of the day for Drexel were Herring, Romero, Dina Rosli, and Bushma, who all won by identical 3-0 scores.
The final day of competition sees the Dragons take on No. 7 Virginia on Sunday, February 6 at 1:30 p.m.
