NEWARK, Del. – The Drexel men's tennis team fell in a tight match against the Delaware Blue Hens on Friday afternoon in Newark, Del., 4-3. Sanil Jagtiani won his fifth-seeded singles match to notch his 50^th career singles win.

The Blue Hens grabbed the doubles point after winning the first and third-seeded matches. In the second-seeded match, however, the duo of Xandy Hammitt and Sanil Jagtiani defeated their opponents, 6-4.

In singles play, Alex De Sousa picked up a three-set victory in the No. 2 match. The sophomore won the first set, 6-4, dropped the second set, 6-3, and then won the third set 10-2. In the fourth-seeded match, Djordje Janackovic also earned the three-set victory after dropping the second set. Janackovic defeated his opponent, 7-5, 6-7, 10-4. Wrapping up for the Dragons in the win column was Jagtiani. The graduate student defeated his opponent 6-4, 7-5.

With his singles win, Jagtiani becomes the fourth player in program history in the 50/50 club. The Kolkata, India native joins Hammitt in the club and the duo are the first pair to play at the same time for Drexel.

The Dragons return home for their final home match of the season. Drexel will celebrate its three seniors prior to its match against Hofstra. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
