PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel University women's soccer team continued its unbeaten streak to open the season, battling to a tough, scoreless draw against the NJIT Highlanders on Sunday afternoon.

Drexel returns to action on Thursday when it makes the trip across state to take on Duquesne on September 1. Opening tap from Pittsburgh is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

- The Dragons pressed the pace offensively in the contest, outshooting the Highlanders 26-4 for the match.
- Annalena O'Reilly, Delaney Lappin, and Casey Touey had four shots each with Elise Duffy taking three.
- Noemi Christ and Molly Piso split the clean sheet. Piso made two saves and Christ had one.
- At 3-0-1, DU is off to the best start in program history. The 2000 team went 3-0 before falling in its fourth match of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Drexel attacked right from the opening tap, as the Dragons recorded four shots in the opening five minutes including three in a sequence of 1:02 that forced the NJIT keeper to make a pair of stelar saves.
- After the Highlanders fought back during the midway point in the first half, DU took control back in the latter stages of the initial 45 minutes and into the second half.
