WASHINGTON, D.C. – The No. 3 Drexel women's squash team swept the ladder to defeat the No. 19 Georgetown Hoyas on Friday night in Washington, D.C.
Moa Bonnemark earned the first point of the night, defeating her opponent 11-0, 11-5, 11-4 in the fourth spot. In the seventh spot, Lara Varma made quick work of her Hoya opponent, 11-7, 11-5, 11-0.
Margot Prow finished her opponent in three games at the second spot on the ladder, 11-1, 11-6, 11-5. Ciara Richards defeated her opponent in the No. 6 spot 11-2, 11-0, 11-2, while Katerina Cummings downed her Hoya counterpart with three-straight 11-3 games.
Dina Rosli earned the victory in the third spot in three games, 11-2, 11-5, 11-8. In the top spot of the ladder, Karina Tyma earned an 11-2, 11-3, 11-7 victory. To cap off Drexel's perfect night, Hatti Specter and Lydia Robinson both earned victories. Specter, who played in the eighth spot, earned a 3-1 victory, 10-12, 11-3, 11-4, 11-2. Robinson played in the No. 5 spot and also won 3-1, 9-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-6.
Drexel returns to action on Sunday, Jan. 15 against the No. 7 Virginia. Action is slated to start in Charlottesville, Va. at 1 p.m.
