Men's Tennis Completes Run at Navy Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Drexel men's tennis team completed its run at the Navy Invitational on Sunday. The Dragons were highly successful at the annual event, winning 20 of the 27 matches they played in.
Alessio Azzalini earned the first two victories of his Drexel career in singles play, defeating Kondwani Patterson of Morgan State, 7-5, 6-3, and Zachary Quattro of Navy, 7-5, 6-3. Will Burridge enjoyed a successful weekend in Maryland, winning two matches. His first was against Vansh Kapoor of Coppin State, 6-2, 6-0, and a clean win against Aaron Gu of Navy, 6-0, 6-0.
Josue Guzman also won two matches, defeating Shine Tokas of Hampton, 6-3, 6-2. His second match was a win against Tezas Singh of Morgan State, 6-1, 6-2. Pierre Humayou wrapped up Drexel's singles play with two wins as well. Humayou defeated Anthony Parris of Morgan State, 6-3, 6-1, and Graydon Buckingham of Navy, 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles play, Alan Jesudason and Alex De Sousa earned two victories, one against Navy and the other against Temple. Josue Guzman and William Burridge cruised to three clean victories this weekend, defeating all three of their opponents 8-0.
The Dragons turn their attention towards the Intercollegiate Tennis Associations Super Regional on Friday October 20 at Princeton, N.J. The pairing of Jesudason and Sousa will represent Drexel in doubles play and El Tawil will play in the singles draw.
