Women's Soccer Earns Conference Victory at Home

PHILADELPHIA – Casey Touey scored early and the Drexel women's soccer team outplayed the UNCW Seahawks for the majority of the contest as the Dragons claimed a 2-0 victory on Thursday night.
DU got the scoring started early. In the ninth minute, Delaney Lappin delivered a free kick that eluded the head of a defender and found the foot of Touey inside the top right corner of the box. She took two dribbles and moved struck the ball inside the far post.
The score remained that way until the 76th minute when the Dragons were the recipient of an own goal when a Seahawks defender attempted to pass the ball to her keeper, but missed her target.
The Dragons wrap the regular season on Sunday when they host the Hampton Pirates. Prior to the match, Drexel will honor its graduating class with a Senior Day ceremony. Opening tap is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
