Field Hockey Falls Short 1-0 in a Defensive Battle Against Lafayette

EASTON, Pa. - The Drexel field hockey team battled with Lafayette but came up short in a 1-0 setback against the Leopards on Sunday afternoon. DU heads into the final three weeks of the regular season with an overall record of 9-4 and 2-1 in CAA play.

The Dragons return to Buckley Field next weekend for a pair of contests. On Friday, October 13, at 4:00pm, DU hosts CAA foe, William & Mary for Team Dragon. On Sunday, October 15, American travels to Philadelphia for a game at Noon, the matchup will be DU's Play4TheCure contest.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Megan Hadfield stopped two shots in cage.
- DU's defense did not allow a Leopards shot for 43:50 of the contest.
- Pili Lemoine and Natali Foster each recorded a shot on goal.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Lafayette scored in the sixth minute of the contest following a penalty corner opportunity.
- The Dragons earned a corner opportunity in the 28th minute as Foster was able to fire a shot on cage but it was saved by the LU goalkeeper.
- Drexel kept the pressure on Lafayette as it earned the only two shots in the final thirty minutes and battled and the defense shut down the Leopards offense in the second half.
