Dragons Down PSU Greater Allegheny on Field Trip Day

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel hosted a field trip day at the Daskalakis Athletic Center as more than 1,000 students from the West Philadelphia community saw the Dragons defeat Penn State Greater Allegheny, 117-49. The Dragons improved to 7-5 on the season as every healthy player played at least six minutes and had at least a point.
Drexel made nine of its first 10 shots from the floor, including five straight from behind the arc, to start the game. The Dragons had a 16-0 run at one point and closed the first half on an 18-3 run to take a 64-23 at halftime. Drexel shot 61 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes. Mate Okros had three 3-pointers and 11 points to lead the Dragons.
The Dragons reached the 100-point mark for the first time since the 2021-22 season, when they achieved the feat against Neumann University. Okros finished with a game-high 16 points in 19 minutes. Justin Moore scored 14, while Lamar Oden, Jr. had 14 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. Shane Blakeney recorded career-highs with nine points, three rebounds and three steals. Cole Hargrove added six points and three blocks, while senior Dean Wang scored seven points and was 3-for-3 from the floor.
Penn State Greater Allegheny is a member of the Penn State University Athletic Conference, which is part of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. It comprises 14 of the Commonwealth Campuses of Pennsylvania State University. Bryce Phillips led the Nittany Lions with 15 points.
The Dragons will play their final game before winter break on Friday in New England. Drexel will face Bryant University in another morning contest at 11 a.m.
