No. 7 Men's Squash Moves on to MASC Championship Match

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 7 Drexel Men's squash team advanced to the finals of the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championships with a 9-0 win against No. 19 Franklin & Marshall on Saturday morning.
Opening the day for the Dragons was Noel Heaton with an 11-3, 11-2, 11-3 win at number seven against Samuel Freed. Matias Knudsen followed with an 11-6, 11-1, 11-3 victory at the top of the ladder. A sweep by Filip Krueger in the sixth position and a 3-1 win by José López in the third spot put Drexel on the verge of the win.
The clinching point came from Fritiof Jacobsson at number five as he downed Flavio Hinostroza 11-3, 11-4, 11-4. Also earning wins for DU were Nico Serna, Yuri Pelbart, Shomari Wiltshire and Gautam Nagpal.
Drexel advances to the championship match of the MASC Championships where it will take on No. 6 Virginia on Sunday, February 5. Opening serve is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
