DALLAS – Keishana Washington added one more honor to her already impressive resume as she was named a WBCA Honorable Mention All-American on Thursday evening.
The honor is the fourth All-America recognition for the graduate student, who also earned Honorable Mention honors from the Associated Press and U.S. Basketball Writers Association and was a Second Team Academic All-American. She is the first WBCA All-American in Drexel program history.
Washington put together arguably the finest season in Drexel women's basketball history, setting a program record with 858 points, ranking third in NCAA Division I. She was second nationally at 27.7 points per game and is the only player in the country with four games of 40 points or more, including a career-best 43 against Fordham in the First Round of the WNIT.
Recently, the Pickering, Ontario native competed in the State Farm College Team Skills and 3X3U Championships. The event will be aired on ESPN2 on April 2 at 9 p.m.
Founded in 1981, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association is the professional association for coaches of women's and girls' basketball at all levels of competition. The WBCA offers educational resources that coaches need to help make themselves better leaders, teachers and mentors to their players; provides opportunities for coaches to connect with peers in the profession; serves as the unifying voice of a diverse community of coaches to the organizations that control the game; and celebrates those coaches, players and other individuals who excel each year and contribute to the advancement of the sport.
