Dragons Varsity 8+ Takes Third at Sunshine State Invitational

SARASOTA, Fla. – The Drexel women's rowing team turned in strong performances against national level competition as the Dragons concluded the Sunshine State Invitational on Saturday morning.

The DU Varsity 8+ consisting of Natalie Cleri (coxswain), Taylor Powell (stroke), Mollie Knoff, Giavanna Hunt, Rita Keefer, Kirby Droogan, Hayley McKeever, Julianna Rogers and Morgan Van Dexter (bow) finished third in the Grand Final in a time of 6:34.79, placing ahead of both Louisville and Wisconsin boats that are receiving votes in the CRCA national poll.

Also competing in the Grand Final, the 2V8+ turned in a sixth place finish, crossing the line in 6:42.95. The V4+ made up of Maddie Depommier (coxswain), Avery Panico (stroke), Genevieve Rowlands, Ariana Townsend and Julia Porro (bow) won the Petite Final.

Drexel returns to action on Saturday, April 8 when it competes in the Murphy Cup Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
