Women's Tennis Top Hofstra in Regular Season Finale

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Drexel women's tennis team defeated the Hofstra Pride in Drexel's regular season finale, 4-1.
Lorie Lemongo and Renata Lombera started the doubles portion off with a victory in the first-seeded match, 6-4. In the No. 3 match, Mya Fuentes and Cristina Corte Gonzalez downed their opponents in a clean, 6-0 match.
In singles play, Lemongo took two sets to defeat her opponent, 6-4, 6-2. She ended her season 20-8 overall in singles play. Isabel Cabrerizo also took her opponent on easily, 6-3, 6-0. Lastly, Aida Garcia Mendez used a pair of 6-1 sets to defeat her Pride opponent, 6-1, 6-1.
The Dragons finish the 2023 spring season with a 9-11 record and a 3-1 conference record. Drexel will now wait to see where they are seeded in the conference tournament, which will be played from Thursday, April 20 through Sunday, April 23 in Williamsburg, Va.
