Women's Tennis to Face Monmouth to Open 2023 CAA Tournament

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's tennis team travels to Williamsburg, Va. on Thursday, April 20, to face the 10th seeded Monmouth Hawks at 3 p.m. in the first round of the 2023 CAA Championships.
ABOUT #7 DREXEL
Drexel enters the tournament winning three of four matches in April. The Dragons competed against Monmouth on April 5 and defeated the Hawks, 4-3. The teams' other conference victories were against the Hofstra Pride and Towson Tigers.
The Drexel lineup features three players with positive singles records. In the No. 1 spot, Lorie Lemongo boasts a 20-8 record and is 13-6 in match play. The second-seeded match, usually occupied by Renata Lombera has also seen great success. The senior is 15-11 this year with a 10-7 match play record. Lastly, Isabel Cabrerizo, who is Drexel's No. 3 player, has a 15-14 record overall and a 10-7 record in the three spot.

Monmouth enters its first CAA Women's with a 6-15 record overall and a 1-4 conference mark. The Hawks a two-match winning streak as they defeated Wagner to close the season and Hofstra just before that. Prior to those two matches, Monmouth has a nine-match losing streak, which included a loss to Drexel.
