Okatie, S.C. - The Drexel golf team had its final tune-up prior to the Colonial Athletic Association Championships on Thursday at Oldfield Country Club. The Dragons defeated the University of South Carolina - Beaufort in a match play event, 4-2.
Griffin Mitchell, Drue Nicholas, Brockton English and Oscar Maxfield won their matches as Drexel played in this unique event for the second straight year. Mitchell won his match, 2&1, while Nicholas was victorious 6&4. English picked up a 6&5 win and Maxfield won 2 up.
Drexel will begin CAA Championship play this weekend at the Cotton Dike Course at Dataw Island, S.C.
