Late Rally Not Quite Enough For Women's Soccer at Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, Conn. – Annalena O'Reilly found the back of the net for a third consecutive game, but a goal early in each half allowed the Quinnipiac Bobcats to upend the Drexel Dragons, 2-1 on Friday afternoon.
Trailing 2-0, O'Reilly pulled DU back within a goal as she tallied her fourth of the season in the 79th minute, striking lower left after receiving a feed from Gabrielle Perrotto. The goal was the 15th of her career, moving the Ardmore, Pa. native into a tie for ninth on the Dragons' career list.
Prior to the score, the best chances for Drexel came towards the end of the first half, when it mustered five shots in five minutes, including a ball that went off the post that would have knotted the score with 17 seconds remaining before the break. A last attempt on a free kick into the mixer with less than a minute remaining in the contest clipped the crossbar and went out.
The Dragons return to action on Sunday when they head to Massachusetts to take on UMass Lowell at 1:00 p.m.
