Van Hellemont Earns CAA Rookie of the Week Honors

RICHMOND, Va. - Val Van Hellemont of Drexel field hockey has been named the CAA Rookie of the Week for the week of September 3 as announced by the conference on Monday morning.
Hellemont recorded five points on two goals and one assist in a 2-0 weekend for Drexel. The freshman from Lier, Belgium tallied two goals in the second half in a 3-0 win over App State for her first career multi-goal effort. She followed the performance by recording her first career assist in an 8-0 rout over Queens (N.C.). Hellemont has at least one point in three straight games and has earned seven points in her first four college contests.
The Dragons return home to face Rider in a non-conference matchup on Friday, September 8. Friday's contest is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and will be streamed on FloLive($).
