No. 7 Men's Squash Defeats No. 21 Navy in 8-0 Shutout

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 7 Drexel men's squash team defeated the No. 21 Navy Midshipmen at home on Wednesday evening in an 8-0 sweep. With the win, the Dragons snapped a three-game losing streak and improved their record to 5-5 while Navy fell to 11-9 on the season.
Charlie Taylor started things off for the Dragons as he defeated Matthew Kang in the five spot, 11-8, 11-5. 11-9. Following Taylor was José López who beat Alexander Orr in the four spot, scoring 11-4,11-3,11-1. In the six spot, Shomari Wiltshire took down Tighe Mullarkey 11-5, 11-9, 11-6. Guido Lindner followed up Wiltshire in the three spot, beating Lucas Spiro by a score of 11-3, 11-1, 11-4.
Next up was Matthew Lucente in the seven spot who won against Sean Wu in an 11-5,11-0, 11-6 sweep. After Lucente it was Michael Berry who defeated Holden Woodward 11-4, 11-0,11-2 in the eight spot. Following this, Youssef Bastawy secured the win against Matthew Wang in the one spot by a score of 11-5, 11-9, 11-5. Lastly, Fritiof Jacobsson defeated Henry Sparkman in the two spot by a score of 11-8, 11-1, 11-5.
Up next, the Dragons will stay home in Philadelphia to take on Harvard on Saturday, February 17. Action is slated to start at 11:00 a.m.
