Men's Tennis Defeats Hofstra, 5-2

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's tennis team defeated the Hofstra Pride on Saturday at the Vidas Courts, 5-2. With the victory, Drexel earned its first conference victory of the season.
Drexel earned the doubles point to begin the match. Alan Jesudason and Alex De Sousa paired in the No.1 spot to defeat their opponents 6-3. Pierre Humayou and Hussein El Tawil earned a 7-6 (1) win in the second-seeded match.
In singles play, Jesudason bounced back after dropping the first set of the No. 1 match to down his opponent. The final score of the top-seeded match was 6-7 (1), 6-3, 6-4. In the third-seeded match, De Sousa dropped his first set and bounced back to defeat his opponent with 6-0, 6-3 sets. The clincher was had in the No. 5 match by Will Burridge, who defeated Hideki Matsuoka, 6-2, 6-3.
In the No. 6 match, Egor Kirakosov dropped the first set but bounced back with a 6-1, 6-2 second and third set.
Drexel looks to win its fourth-straight match on Sunday, February 4. The Dragons will travel to Princeton, N.J. to take on the Tigers at 4 p.m.
