
No. 8 Men's Squash Falls to No. 1 Trinity in Potter Cup Nail-Biter

PHILADELPHIA– Despite a close finish, the No. 8 Drexel men's squash team fell to No. 1 Trinity 5-4 in the second round of the Potter Cup. With the loss, the Dragons fell to 9-7 overall on the season and will move on to the consolation bracket while the 18-0 Bantams will advance to face Yale in the Potter Cup semifinals.
Fritiof Jacobsson got it started for the Dragons from the five spot, defeating Benedek Takacs, 11-5, 11-7, 6-11, 11-7. After Jacobsson, Youssef Bastawy took down Aly Eltokhy from the two spot, 11-6, 11-2, 6-11, 11-8. Up next, Guido Lindner defeated Khamal Cumberbatch 14-12, 11-1, 11-13, 12-10 from the six spot. Lastly, Darien Benn went the distance against Daniel Izham, winning by a score of 11-9, 5-11, 5-11, 11-9, 13-11 from the nine spot.
Next, the Dragons will face No. 4 Harvard on Saturday, March 2 in the semifinals of the Potter Cup consolation bracket. Action is slated to start from the Arlen Specter US Squash Center at 11:00 A.M.
