Golf Finishes Second at the Monument Golf Oldfield Invitational

OKATIE, S.C. - The Drexel golf team finished in second place at the Monument Golf Oldfield Invitational, finishing as a team 14 over par. This is the second consecutive second-place finish for the Dragons. South Carolina Beaufort who hosted the event, won the invitational at four over par.
Griffin Mitchell shot one under par in today's action and finished tied for third to lead Drexel. Mitchell hit an eagle and two birdies in round three of play. Oscar Maxfield closed out action in South Carolina tied for seventh with a 72 in the second round. Maxfield hit six birdies in round two.
Caleb Taylor jumped seven spots up on the leaderboard on Tuesday as he scored a 72 in the final round with five birdies. Close behind was Tafadzwa Nyamukondiwa who shot two over par on Tuesday to finish in the middle of the pack.
Drexel finished 10 shots behind South Carolina Beaufort. DU was seven strokes better than St. Thomas (FL) and 13 ahead of Truett-McConnell. Ellis Bright of SC Beaufort was victorious at 8-under par. Jackson Stone of Truett-McConnell finished second, only one shot better than Mitchell and Anthony Amoroso (St.Thomas - FL.).
Drexel returns to Philadelphia as it hosts the Dragon Match Play Invitational on April 8 and 9.
