RICHMOND, Va. – The Drexel men's tennis team defeated the Richmond Spiders 4-0 on Saturday evening in Richmond.
Drexel clinched the doubles point after taking the third match. Will Burridge and Hussein El Tawil paired in third-seeded match to defeat their opponents 6-3. After the Spiders took the second match, Alan Jesudason and Alex De Sousa clinched the point with a 7-5 victory in the No. 1 seed.
In singles play, Jesudason led the Dragons off by defeating his opponent 6-2, 7-5. Up 2-0, De Sousa was next to finish. He downed his opponent, 6-3, 7-6 (2). Burridge clinched the match for the Dragons, earning a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
The Dragons return to action on Sunday to take on the William & Mary Tribe. Action from Williamsburg, Va. is slated for 11 a.m.
