Women's Basketball Announces 2023-24 Team Awards
PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's basketball team announced its team award winners on Thursday as part of the Dragons' end-of-the-year banquet.
LOOKING BACK AT THE SEASON
The program captured its third CAA title after winning seven straight games to end the regular season and win the CAA Tournament. With the tournament win, Drexel pushed its postseason streak to double digits, clinching a spot in postseason play for 10 straight years. Amaris Baker was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament after averaging 19.8 points per game and 38.8 minutes per game. Baker, Brooke Mullin and Chloe Hodges were all named to the All-Tournament Team.

Grace O'Neill, Baker, Hodges, Erin Doherty and Momo LaClair were recognized as Iron Dragons for their work in the weight room before and during the season.
CHARGE LEADER / GRACE O'NEILL
The Dragons recognized O'Neill for drawing the most charges on the team, a stat the team compiled in both games and practice.
REBOUNDING AWARD / GRACE O'NEILL
O'Neill continued her work on the boards in her sophomore season. The West Chester, Pa. native collected a team-leading 176 rebounds. During the season, O'Neill led the team in leading 13 times and had 10+ rebounds twice.
LIZ BERRY MOST IMPROVED PLAYER / CHLOE HODGES
Hodges almost doubled production in every tracked stat from her junior to senior year. The Adelaide, Australia native started in all 34 of the team's games and set career highs in all but one category this season. Entering the 2023-24 season, Hodges had only notched 10 or more points three times. This season, Hodges scored more than 10 points 13 times. The forward also doubled her point production from the 145 points she scored last season. This season, Hodges scored 293 points.
STEVEN SHER ACADEMIC AWARD / HETTA SAATMAN AND CHLOE HODGES
Hetta Saatman and Hodges were recognized as the Steven Sher Academic Award winners. Saatman has a 4.0 GPA in grad school, while Hodges has a 3.75 in her senior year.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER AWARD / GRACE O'NEILL AND BROOKE MULLIN
The top defensive award went to O'Neill and Brooke Mullin for their stellar defensive play all season. The duo combined for 96 steals and helped the Dragons complete the year ranked 13th in the nation in scoring defense. O'Neill and Mullin led the Dragon defense to hold opponents to 55.9 points per game and keep nine different opponents to less than 50 points.
MEGHAN CREIGHTON ASSIST AWARD / BROOKE MULLIN
Mullin was a very welcomed addition to the team this past season. The graduate student paced the Dragons in assists with 126. Mullin tallied at least one assist in all but one game this season and set a career-high in assists after dishing out 10 against Arcadia.
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER AWARD / AMARIS BAKER
Baker took over to close out the season. The junior transfer from Harcum led the Dragons with 398 points this season, scoring 309 points in conference play. More impressively, Baker scored in double-digits for 12 straight games to end the season, including the conference tournament and Drexel's NCAA Tournament game against #1 Texas. In the 12-game span, Baker scored 198 points.
MAUREEN CRONIN SPIRIT/LEADERSHIP AWARD / GRACE O'NEILL AND HETTA SAATMAN
O'Neill and Saatman took home the Maureen Cronin Spirit and Leadership Award. This is the seventh year the award has been named for Drexel's longtime equipment manager, who passed away following the 2016-17 season.
LIL HAAS COACHES AWARD / HETTA SAATMAN
Saatman made the most of her final games with the Dragons. Starting on senior day against Campbell at the DAC, Saatman would go on to score 75 points in eight games, 28-54 from the floor and 11-22 from long range. Saatman helped fuel the Dragons during the final stretch of games and capture the program's third NCAA Tournament berth.
