Bachstein Scores Two Goals, Lifts Dragons Past La Salle, 3-2

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's soccer team defeated the La Salle Explorers, 3-2, on Friday night at Vidas Field. Dominick Bachstein scored twice and also tallied the game-winning-goal for Drexel. It is the first victory with David Castellanos at the helm of the program.
Alessandro Capogna started in net for the Dragons and finished with four saves.
La Salle opened the scoring with a tally in the 25th minute. A shot by Yuval Nimrodi was poked past Capogna to give the Explorers an early lead. A lead that would hold past halftime.
In the 60th minute, the Dragons set up a corner kick. Patrick Short played a ball into the penalty box and found the head of Colin Davis to even the game at one. Three minutes later, Bachstein gave Drexel the lead in the same exact way as the team's first goal. Short served a ball into box and Bachstein finished the play.
Bachstein scored the game-winning-goal in the 78th minute. The graduate student took a try from on top of the box and it was deflected away from the keeper by a La Salle Player. It is the first multi-goal game for Bachstein in his career.
La Salle trimmed the deficit to one in the 82nd minute with a goal by Sean Yurgel.
The Dragons begin conference play on September 7 in Elon, N.C. against the Phoenix at 2 p.m.
