PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's soccer team defeated the Northeastern Huskies on Saturday, 4-3, at Vidas Field.

The Dragons started the game strong. An eighth-minute corner led to a goal from Aamir Ketbache, assisted by Mo Diallo, at 8:21. Drexel kept up the pressure; another shot from Ketbache at 17:47 was saved. A few moments later, Max Haberl connected with Ben Weller to give the Dragons a 2-0 lead. DU continued to generate scoring opportunities, with shots from Haberl, Tiago Lima-Bittencourt and Morgan Worsfold-Gregg happening over the course of three minutes. Northeastern responded with a goal of its own at 25:22 to make it 2-1. The teams went back and forth until Lima-Bittencourt found Diallo, who found the back of the net at 32:25.

Diallo returned the favor at 35:16 when he set up Lima-Bittencourt to score his first goal of the season. The teams then went back and forth, with a shot from Ketbache saved at 42:51, but neither team scored again before the half ended.

The second half kept the intensity, with Drexel generating an early corner kick. A Northeastern goal at 55:13 made it a 4-2 game. The teams continued to battle, before the Huskies trimmed the lead down to one with another goal at 62:10. The Dragons responded with a corner kick at 66:29. A Christian Combs shot in the 70^th minute hit the right post and moments later a Lima-Bittencourt shot was saved. DU kept up the intensity, taking a pair of shots in the 75^th minute. A penalty kick in the 83^rd minute went high and the game ended with Drexel winning, 4-3.
