PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's soccer team defeated the visiting La Salle Explorers, 3-1, Tuesday evening.

The Dragons started the match with the ball. In the 11^th minute Leon Park passed the ball to Tiago Lima-Bittencourt who found the back of the net and give Drexel the early lead.

La Salle responded with a shot in the 13^th minute, which Raphael Bartell saved. The teams battled for possession of the ball until a La Salle goal tied things up in the 23^rd minute. The two teams continued to go back and forth, with an Explorer shot at 31:04 going over the top and a shot from Victor Moerck being saved at 36:53. Drexel kept up the pressure, generating multiple corners and shots from Gianluca Grubic and Aamir Ketbache that were stopped in the 40^th and 43^rd minutes, respectively. A La Salle shot went wide right as the half ended, leaving the two teams tied at one goal each.

The second half kept the intensity high as the teams went back and forth. An Explorer shot in the 59^th minute was saved by Bartell. At 62:04, Ben Weller connected with Victor Moerck to retake the lead for the Dragons.

The teams continued to battle in a physical, back-and-forth match until the 83^rd minute, when Mo Diallo drew a foul in the box to set up a penalty kick by Morgan Worsfold-Gregg. The penalty kick was blocked but Worsfold-Gregg recovered the rebound and found the back of the net and seal the win for Drexel.
