PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's soccer team defeated the Stony Brook Seawolves Saturday afternoon, 2-1, at Vidas Field.

The Seawolves started the match with two corner kicks that the Dragons cleared. In the ninth minute, Morgan Worsfold-Gregg passed to Ben Weller, who found the back of the net to give Drexel an early lead.

A Stony Brook header in the 15^th minute tied things up. Stony Brook generated multiple opportunities, but Drexel's defense held, with Raphael Bartell saving a 20^th-minute shot. The Dragons earned a corner kick in the 26^th minute but couldn't score. The teams continued to battle defensively throughout the rest of the half. A 36^th-minute Seawolf shot was saved by Bartell. Victor Moerck's 42nd-minute shot was saved as the half ended with the teams tied at one goal each.

Stony Brook took two shots to start the half, but both went over the crossbar. Drexel fought back, creating chances on three corners and two shots in the 56^th and 58^th minutes, but couldn't retake the lead. The Dragons kept up the pressure, with shots from Tiago Lima-Bittencourt in the 62^nd and 64^th minutes; the latter landed in front of Mo Diallo, who put the ball in the back of the net to put Drexel back in front.

A 65^th-minute Stony Brook red card gave the Dragons an advantage, leading to a corner and a shot from Gianluca Grubic at 72:05 that was saved. The teams continued to trade blows, with Leon Park and Christian Combs both taking shots as the Dragons held their lead to win 2-1.

With the win, Drexel moves into first place in the CAA North.
