VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Drexel men's soccer team fell to the Villanova Wildcats, 4-2, on Tuesday in Villanova.

The Dragons created opportunities early, with a Victor Moerck shot saved at 1:14, followed by a fourth-minute shot by Tiago Lima Bittencourt. With 10:30 on the clock, Mo Diallo scored his third goal of the season with Morgan Worsfold-Gregg and Gianluca Grubic picking up assists. Drexel kept up the intensity, with a 20^th minute shot from Diallo being saved. Villanova quickly responded, with a shot in the 21^st minute that was saved by Raphael Bartell. The teams continued to go back and forth, with 24^th- and 29^th-minute shots from Grubic and Worsfold-Gregg, but neither team was able to find the back of the net. The Wildcats took a pair of shots to end the half but ultimately Drexel led after 45 minutes.

Villanova responded in the second half, tying the game in the 48^th minute. A pair of goals in the 52^nd minute gave the Wildcats a 3-1 lead. Drexel fought back with shots in the 57^th, 58^th and 63^rd minutes but were unable to close the gap. Another Wildcat goal in the 68^th minute made it a three-goal game. The Dragons fought back, with a 69^th-minute shot from Leon Park going wide left and a pair of corners in the 71^st and 72^nd minutes. At 74:58, Daniel Frye connected with Daniel Celso to make it a 4-2 game. Brian Salvino quickly followed up with another shot in the 77^th minute that was saved. The Dragons continued to generate opportunities to score, with shots in the last 10 minutes but were unable to score. A last-second shot by Worsfold-Gregg went wide as time expired.

Drexel generated opportunities throughout the night, taking eight shots on goal compared with six from Villanova. The Dragons also held the advantage on corners, 8-2.
