PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. - The Drexel golf team repeated as champions at the Temple Invitational this weekend. The Dragons entered the day in third place, but had a solid performance on Sunday and picked up their first victory of the young season. Drexel finished two strokes better than Penn and 11 shots ahead of third-place La Salle. Drue Nicholas led the way for the Dragons. The senior finished in second place at even par over the two-day event.
The Dragons had the second-lowest round of any of the 12 teams at the 1912 Club on Sunday. Caleb Taylor had the best round of the day for DU. The junior shot even-par 70, one of five players on the course to shoot par on the day. No player broke par on the 7,062-yard, par-70 course. Taylor finished in seventh place overall at 143 (+3). Kevin Lydon had a good day on Sunday, carding at 71. John Keba contributed with a 72.
