PHILADELPHIA — The Drexel women's soccer team dropped their first CAA match of the season, falling to Monmouth Thursday night at Vidas Field, 0-0. The Dragons move to 2-3-8 overall and 1-1-2 in conference play. Sammy Widnick collected a career-high seven saves.
The lone goal of the contest for the Hawks came in the 49th minute. Loren Gehrat lobbed a corner kick to Emily De Almeida, whose header struck the crossbar and bounced into the net. Liv Brocious and Elise Duffy led DU with two shots apiece.
Drexel travels to Long Island on Sunday to face Stony Brook. Action is set for 6 p.m.
