Drexel Falls to Delaware, 2-1

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel field hockey fell to Delaware, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon at Buckley Field. With the result, the Dragons moved to 7-5 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first quarter, Delaware broke through midway through the second period with goals in the 22nd and 26th minutes. The Dragons had several penalty corner chances in the third but were unable to convert, including a penalty stroke that was turned away by the Delaware goalkeeper. Drexel cut the deficit in the 53rd minute when Valentine Van Hellemont found the back of the cage, but the Dragons' late push came up short as Delaware held on for the 2-1 win.

Van Hellemont's goal was her third of the season.
Drexel outshot Delaware 19-5 and held a 9-6 advantage in penalty corners.
Pili Lemoine led the Dragons with four shots, including two on goal.
Goalkeeper Alana Poole made one save in 60 minutes of action.
Marti Sanabria, Natali Foster, and Anna Getty each played the full 60 minutes.
