PHILADELPHIA – Amaris Baker and Ethan Wilson named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the week of November 11th–17th.
Amaris Baker, a member of the women's basketball team, continued her strong start to the season by leading Drexel to wins over Penn and Loyola (Md.). The graduate student scored 18 points on 7-for-15 shooting in the Dragons' 72-55 victory over Penn, including 12 in the first quarter. She followed with a game-high 20 points on 8-for-15 shooting in a 66-57 win against Loyola (Md.), helping Drexel improve to 4-0 for the first time since the 2010–11 season. The Philadelphia, Pa. native is averaging 17.0 points so far this season.
Ethan Wilson, a member of the wrestling team, posted two dominant wins as Drexel opened the dual season with victories over Duke and Morgan State. The redshirt junior recorded back-to-back technical falls, earning an 18-2 win against Duke's David Hussey before following with a 16-0 victory over Bryce Phillips of Morgan State.
