Dragon of the Week: Falconi and Smith

PHILADELPHIA – Sebastian Smith and Emi Falconi named the Drexel Dragons of the Week, presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, for the week of November 18th–24th.
Sebastian Smith, a member of the men's swimming and diving team, delivered one of the top performances of the weekend at the WVU Invitational. The senior won four events, sweeping the sprint freestyle and butterfly races with victories in the 100 fly (46.48), 50 free (19.80) and 100 free (43.59). He also anchored Drexel's winning 400 free relay with a 42.88 split. The Wappingers, N.Y. native finished as the meet's top individual scorer with 109 points, the highest total of any swimmer, helping the Dragons earn a second-place team finish.
Emi Falconi, a member of the women's squash team, earned strong results across a demanding weekend against three nationally ranked opponents. The junior opened with an 18-16, 11-5, 11-7 victory over Stanford's Riya Shankaran before pushing Princeton's Charlotte Bell in a competitive four-game match. She closed the weekend with a straight-sets win against Georgetown's Mary Kacergis (11-6, 11-8, 11-6) as the Dragons swept the 14th-ranked Hoyas, 9-0.
